I started today's run happy for several reasons. I was happy I didn't procrastinate too long to get my run started. so I had plenty of time to get an hour and a half run in. I was happy it was warm enough to run and happy it was sunny out. I was happy the bike path wasn't too slippery even though it had a little snow on it. I was also happy it was Saturday. I love sleeping in then having a couple cups of coffee while catching up on emails, blogs and twitter.

It wasn't nearly as slippery as it looked |

It was a little chilly running in to the wind. |
With all the things I had to be happy about, I kept drifting back to a post I read this morning
here. I had read about the disappearance of a runner in Sidney Montana a couple days ago and searched for an update this morning, hoping she had made it home. After reading that post and the posts from the preceding days, this really bothered me. I can't fathom how people can do such terrible things to other people and their families and friends. I really can't.
Just so senseless! I just don't get why people have to be so evil. I'm glad you had a good run, though...life must continue to move foward, I'm sure she'd say the same thing!
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a sad story and it has a way of overriding our own emotions.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, I really like that open trail in your photos. Although I live in Hawaii, I have spent considerable time in cold weather. You're right sunny days with snow on the ground makes for "happy"!
Looks like a beautiful run!
ReplyDeleteHopefully you had plenty of time for doing that fun Saturday morning stuff. No run happens without coffee here!
Snow is really nice to run in when there isn't ice. Glad you had a good run!
ReplyDeleteThat story hurts. It's so sad that it happened.
I'd been following that story since the day she disappeared, and it really struck me deeply. So awful and tragic. I can't get it out of my mind. :(
ReplyDeleteI bet the trails were chilly in the wind. Such a pretty day we had, though.
What a beautiful day to run!
ReplyDeleteI have been following that story too... very, very sad & scary. You never know when something like that is going to happen :(
So very sad....just heartbreaking. Makes you appreciate the little things, like a good happy run :).
ReplyDeleteI don't get it either. Just makes zero sense.
ReplyDeleteThat's just awful.
ReplyDeleteMakes you realize we are each blessed with so many days...and to take NO one for granted.
Sad run indeed.
I have been somewhat following that story and had no idea of her link to SUAR.
