Breckenridge skiing - 2012

Despite the lack of snow and warm temperatures, we decided to ski a couple days since this was supposed to be a ski trip after all.  The conditions were the worst we've ever skied in, but it was still beautiful out there.  Here are a couple pics.

nice views

me, my son and my mom

I'm the only one that crashed.  Both times I was going to fast, not paying attention and tried to stop or turn on ice patches.  Both times my skis didn't release.  I think they set the skiis for my weight two years ago that they still had in their computer system.  Oh well, at least I didn't hurt my knees.

I'm not going to show any pictures of the bare spots.  It just doesn't do justice to this beautiful ski area.  Hopefully the snow will be better next year.

Crazy! It is hard to imagine that there are bare spots on the mountain since we have been FLOODED with rain here...wish I could send some precipitation there :)

Looks like a fun time to be had by all- glad you didn't hurt yourself!

The snow was great...until about 2 weeks ago when Global Warming took over. When I got back from Iowa, I couldn't believe how little snow there was on the Rockies. Of course, we got a big storm two days ago so there's lots of snow again. You just hit the middle bad pocket. Next time you're here and the snow is bad, I'll take you on a great trail run instead. :)

I learned to ski at Breckinridge! Many years ago! They were actually filming Christmas Vacation while we were out there and we kept looking for Christie Brinkley! LOL

Looks great in spite of the poor snow coverage!

I would be so thrilled to go skiing right now. We only have one season here. No snow for us. Before I moved back home to Hawaii I used to ski every winter.

I'm jealous. I haven't gone skiing since before having kids. Looks fun. :)

Glad the crashes didn't cause problems.

Ugh, hate skiing on ice. Glad you got some good hikes in, though.

Even though we had a lot less snow than I've ever seen at Breck - it was still beautiful and so much fun to be out there:) Glad you didn't hurt your knees when your bindings didn't release...

It looks so GORGEOUS there! Glad you didn’t have any injuries with the crashing. I have never been skiing, but I’m sure I would take myself out quite a bit!
